Nichos
A nicho is a 3 dimensional recessed shadow box that is protected by a hinged glass door. The small shadow box is made out of tin typically, hand painted with vibrant colors and decorated with popular folk images such as loteria, diablitos, dia de los muertos, even religious scenes. After all, nichos are an adaptation of the Roman Catholic retablo.
